University of 杏吧直播间 Alabama junior forward Chloe RobertsHIGHLAND HEIGHTS, Ky. --- University of 杏吧直播间 Alabama junior forward Chloe Roberts was named the Ron Lenz National Player of the Year to headline the 2011 Daktronics NCAA Division II Women's Soccer All-America Team. Roberts, now a three-time All-America selection, also joined 12 other student-athletes on an All-America first team that features six repeat honorees. Defenders Catherine Hauck (Lenoir-Rhyne), Megan Brown (Grand Valley State) and Hanna Staley (Midwestern State) as well as midfielders Amanda Mason (杏吧直播间ern Kentucky) and Christina Cuffari (St. Rose) each earned their second career All-America awards. Other first-team honorees include goalkeeper Julia Hansson (Bridgeport); defender Marie Pettersson (Bridgeport); midfielders Carley Work (California (Pa.)) and Megan Woodworth (Colorado Mines) and forwards Ashley Botts (Grand Valley State), Carmelina Puopolo (St. Rose) and Ashley Alderin-Fleagle (Limestone). Roberts, a 5-5 native of Plymouth, England, has scored 16 goals and added 15 assists for 45 points, leading all Gulf South Conference players in each of those categories. She currently ranks third among all NCAA Division II players in points per game (2.35) and assists per game (0.75). Roberts was honored as the Daktronics South Region Player of the Year and, for the second time in her career, the GSC Player of the Year. The Ron Lenz National Player of the Year award was named for long-time South Dakota State sports information director Ron Lenz in 2008. Lenz was instrumental in the foundation of the Daktronics NCAA Division II All-America program, which honors outstanding student-athletes across eight NCAA Division II sports. Sports information directors from NCAA Division II schools and conferences selected the three Daktronics All-America teams. The process begins at the regional level with all first-team all-region picks advancing to the national ballot. This is the sixth year Daktronics has sponsored the NCAA Division II Women's Soccer All-America and all-region teams. A total of 39 student-athletes representing 21 different institutions filled out the three teams. The team is sponsored by Daktronics, Inc., an acknowledged world leader in scoring, timing and programmable display systems for virtually every sport at every level of competition. The team is voted on by the NCAA Division II members of the College Sports Information Directors of America (D2SIDA), with the online nomination and voting process powered by ATHLETICSITE.COM. UNA junior midfielder Nikki Brown of Bognor Regis, England was named second-team All-American for the third straight year, while sophomore forward Jennifer Osmond of Southampton, England, earned honorable mention All-American honors. Roberts has scored a school-record 76 goals in her three seasons at UNA and has added 42 assists. Brown is UNA's career assist leader with 44, including 12 this season to go with nine goals. She scored three goals in the Gulf South Conference championship match as UNA claimed its first conference title. Osmond tied Roberts for the team lead in goals this season with 16 and added seven assists.
