Join the University Program Council

The University Program Council consists of  paid student workers that are passionate about their campus and providing their peers with a great UNA experience through programs and events.
Applications will open January 15, 2025 and will close February 28, 2025.

ACTIVITY PLANNERS

The Activity Planners are the five members of the council that are focused around planning the events that UPC brings to campus throughout the academic year. The specific positions include:
  1. Co-Curricular: Supports educational programs that correlate with campus educational initiatives that foster an appreciation for diversity, inclusion, culture, health and wellness, and encouraging an academic dialog or experience involving relevant social issues
  2. Productions Promoter: Responsible for producing large scale events which include but are not limited to concerts, silent discos, comedy shows, talent shows, and the annual Step Sing event
  3. Spirit Activities Planner: Responsible for planning or supporting programs and events that inspire a spirited and exciting campus environment especially leading up to athletic events
  4. Student Union Activities Planner: Coordinates activities intended to sustain an engaging atmosphere in and around the student union building (This includes Bingo Bango, weekend events, movie nights, Sips and Strokes, etc.)
  5. Welcome Warrior: responsible for planning high quality events intended to engage new and first year students into the UNA community and to serve as an advisor in Freshman Forum
PAID: $250 (10 months of the year)
HOURS: Approximately 12 Hours/week
INTERVIEWS: Friday, March 7 (3PM to 7PM)

MARKETING TEAM

The Marketing team are the two members of the council that are focused around marketing all the events produced by UPC as well as the brand altogether. Previous experience in these areas is strongly preferred. 

Our two marketing team positions consist of:

1. Collateral & Branding Creator: This role works closely with the Marketing Communications Coordinator to create high quality brand, graphics, and look for the Program Council. They are a resource for their members as they can create a unique and custom look for each event. Students should have the following knowledge or skills:

2. Marketing and Communications: This role creates a strong presence of the University Program Council on campus. They work side by side with the Collateral and Branding creator to establish who the council is and what they look like to the students, faculty, and staff by maintaining their media and print look. Students should have the following knowledge or skills:Writing proficiency

3. Video Producer and Photographer: This role creates a strong presence of the University Program Council on campus. They work side by side with the Collateral and Branding creator and Marketing and Communications Coordinator to script, video, and edit event promotional material.

4. Marketing Assistant: TThis role works closely with the entire Marketing team to create high quality brand, graphics, and marketing materials for the Program Council. This individual will assist with our social media presence, event postings on campus groups, the posting of flyers around campus, and ideography/photography at events.PAID: $250 (10 months of the year)

HOURS: Approximately 12 Hours/week
INTERVIEWS: Thursday, March 6 (5PM to 8PM)

 

 

HYPE HUMAN

UPC Hype Human is the face of campus spirit and tradition. This individual must be outgoing, quick-witted, and high-spirited. This is a role that is cast each year. The individual cast for this role must be comfortable wearing costumes, talking to strangers, and getting people excited regardless of if they are sitting in the cafeteria or in the stands. 

PAID: $250 (10 months of the year)
HOURS: Approximately 12 Hours/week
INTERVIEWS: Thursday, March 6 (4PM to 5PM)
