Bio:
Welcome to 5th grade!! I am currently a fifth grade teacher at Kilby Laboratory School. I graduated from The College of New Jersey in 2007, with a dual degree in elementary education and math/ science/ technology and shortly after, earned my master’s degree in curriculum and instruction, elementary education. I was born and raised in New Jersey but have taught in several states including New Jersey, Arizona, Virginia, and for the past 7 years, Alabama. While I have experience teaching all subjects and grade levels, the middle grades are my favorite. In upper elementary, I can become a facilitator, allowing students to take control of their own learning in many ways, while focusing on metacognition, their own interests, and reflecting on their performance to guide their next steps. Outside of the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family, Jason, also employed by UNA, Carter, a current Kilby cub, and Avery, a future Kilby cub! We recently added a new puppy, Remy, to the mix. We like to travel, go to the beach, and spend time with friends and family.

Bio:
I was raised in Huntsville Alabama. I graduated from the University of 杏吧直播间 Alabama where I received my Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree in Elementary Education. My husband, Paul, and I have been married for twenty-six years. We are proud parents of a son Matthew, a recent UNA graduate, and a daughter Macey who attends Florence High School. A few of my favorite things are spending quality time with family and friends, fresh flowers, pets, chocolate chip cookies, traveling, and reading. As a former Kilby parent, I feel it is both an honor and a privilege to work collaboratively with such an outstanding faculty as well as phenomenal parents. Although I have thoroughly enjoyed the past ten years of my teaching career in the upper elementary grades, I have felt the embrace of the entire Kilby family as we have worked together during my first year in third grade. This year has been full of remarkable experiences and wonderful memories that I will cherish forever. I am truly dedicated to the teaching profession and to making a difference in the lives of young people at Kilby Laboratory School. I am humbled to be a part of such an outstanding school of excellence, and I will always be grateful for this opportunity.
