Course Description: Principles and techniques of elementary algebra; products, factors, and quotients of polynomials; operations with rational expressions, ratio and proportion; rectangular coordinate system; systems of equations and inequalities; roots and radicals; seconddegree equations; the quadratic formula. The 4 credit hours will allow more time to develop and master the principles and techniques of elementary algebra. F. Course Objectives: This course is intended to refresh the students memory of beginning algebra and to expose the student to additional aspects of algebra and its applications in the scientific and business world. This course also provides the student necessary mathematical background and skills for the study of pre-calculus algebra or elementary statistics. G.
